Saudi Arabia, Jeddah Mar 06 (APP):Pakistan’s Consul General Syed Mustafa Rabbani lauded the services of the Pakistan Kidney Centre (PKC) in Abbottabad, north of Pakistan, by providing free medical care to patients suffering from kidney diseases, many of whom come from underprivileged backgrounds and would otherwise struggle to access such specialized treatment.
Addressing the audience at the 11th annual PKC function at the Lasani Banquet Hall on Madinah Road here, Consul General Syed Mustafa Rabbani said healthcare is one of the most meaningful forms of service to humanity. Facilities like the Pakistan Kidney Centre not only provide life-saving treatment but also restore hope and dignity to patients and their families. The centre’s dedicated doctors, nurses, and staff deserve our appreciation for their commitment and compassion.
Rabbani also acknowledged the strong sense of community among overseas Pakistanis in Jeddah, whose support for and connections to humanitarian initiatives in Pakistan continue to make a positive difference. Such efforts reflect the enduring values of solidarity, generosity, and responsibility towards those in need. Events like today’s gathering are important because they allow us to stay informed about the progress, services, and impact of institutions like the Pakistan Kidney Centre. Greater awareness helps strengthen our collective understanding of the challenges faced by patients with kidney disease and the importance of accessible healthcare, he added.
Earlier, the program began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an by Qari Mohammed Asif, followed by a Naat recital by Mohammed Nawaz Janjua. Vice President Sharif Zaman welcomed all guests. Dr. Khalil-ur-Rehman, founder president of PKC, himself a kidney specialist, informed about the facilities and dialysis services of PKC and presented the latest slides and videos on the project.
He said the PKC foundation stone was laid down in 2012 by A.Q. Khan (late). He thanked the Consul General, Syed Mustafa Rabbani, and Press Consular Mohammed Irfan for their participation.
The event was hosted by Anwar Anjum and attended by elite Pakistani and Saudi families, doctors, engineers, business executives, and board members of PWS-PKC. President of Pakistan Welfare Society (PWS) Khalid Zia thanked all the guests.
