TIANJIN, June 25 (APP): Chinese Premier Li Qiang of the State Council attended a symposium of business representatives at the 2025 Summer Davos Forum in Tianjin on the Wednesday afternoon.
After hearing the representatives’ statements, Li Qiang pointed out that the current international situation is undergoing profound and complex changes, which pose great challenges to the economic development of all countries. China’s economy has maintained a steady growth trend not only because of stable and sound fundamentals and proactive macro policies, but also because it attaches great importance to the strength of the market and the strength of enterprises, among which large foreign-funded enterprises have made important contributions. At the same time, China also provides a vast space for the development of foreign-funded enterprises, as per Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Li Qiang stated that in the face of a world marked by both change and disorder, it is essential to adapt to the situation and take proactive and effective measures to address uncertainties and risks, thereby creating a favorable environment for enterprise development. First, in the context of the deep adjustment of the layout of the global industrial chain, the quality and efficiency of industrial support is particularly important. China has a strong industrial support capability, and the industrial and supply chains are continuously optimized, and the quality and efficiency are continuously improved. The brands, channels, technology and other advantages of multinational enterprises, combined with China’s industrial supporting advantages, can form more high-quality products and services, and enhance the global competitiveness of enterprises. Second, in the context of the accelerated evolution of the new round of technological revolution, the speed of industrialization of new technologies and the ability to iterate upgrade are particularly important. China has a large user base of various products and services, and technological innovation and industrial innovation interact efficiently. There is broad space and major opportunities for enterprises from all countries to conduct scientific and technological cooperation and collaborative innovation in China. Third, the stability of the environment for enterprise development is particularly important in the context of increased uncertainties in international economic and trade cooperation. At present, the rise of protectionism, unilateralism and counter-globalization has caused great difficulties for enterprise development. Amid these changes, China’s economy has shown a stability that can withstand external shocks and maintain its own pace, and this stability is also reflected in China’s unwavering opening-up, which allows multinational enterprises to do more and develop in China.
Li Qiang expressed the hope that enterprises from all countries will provide more high-quality products and services for the Chinese market, and strengthen cooperation in science and technology with Chinese enterprises to better achieve supply and demand alignment and win-win cooperation, and jointly promote technological progress and industrial competitiveness. China will, as always, welcome enterprises from all over the world to invest and do business in China, and hopes that everyone can realize their dreams and achieve success here, and accompany the steady progress of China’s economy.
About 160 representatives of the business community from more than 30 countries and regions attended the meeting. Representatives of the business community said that foreign enterprises in China have witnessed sustained economic growth for many years, and China’s policy stability and long-term planning are especially valuable in the current global situation of rising uncertainty. Foreign-funded enterprises are full of confidence in China’s economic prospects and openness and cooperation, and will continue to cultivate the Chinese market, increase investment in scientific and technological innovation, maintain the smooth flow of production and supply chains, and realize greater development of enterprises in the process of integrating China’s high-quality development.
Chen Miner and Wu Zhenglong participated in the colloquium.
