LAHORE, Nov 26 (APP):The Women’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry Lahore organised a vibrant Women’s Sports Gala on Wednesday, bringing together female athletes from various universities to promote sportsmanship, confidence and women’s participation in extracurricular activities.
Commissioner Lahore Division Marryam Khan inaugurated the gala as the chief guest by cutting the ribbon. President of the Women’s Chamber Falahat Imran, along with chamber members, warmly received the Commissioner upon her arrival. The organizers briefed her on the objectives of the gala, emphasizing women’s empowerment through sports and community engagement.
Commissioner Marryam Khan congratulated the Chamber on hosting a well-organized and spirited event and lauded the efforts of the management team. She was introduced to the participating students and athletes representing different universities and personally encouraged each of them. She praised the enthusiasm and discipline demonstrated by the young sportswomen.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Commissioner Marryam Khan said that women, through their talent, capability and progressive mindset, were excelling in every field of life. She said that the active participation of women was essential for Pakistan’s development, adding that a vibrant and progressive society is recognized by the meaningful contributions of its women. She emphasized that platforms promoting women’s sports are vital for enhancing confidence, leadership skills and healthy competition among young women.
The Women’s Sports Gala featured a series of competitive events aimed at highlighting athletic potential and encouraging greater participation of women in sports activities across educational institutions.
