FAISALABAD, May 29 (APP): Managing Director Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) Amir Aziz has ordered to launch a public awareness campaign regarding dumping of remains of sacrificial animals in main channels and drains.
He said that citizens on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha threw feces and remains of their sacrificial animals into main channels and sewerage lines, due to which the sewage system choked.
This practice on the citizen side either created sewage problems, while on the other hand, the workload of WASA field staff increased. He directed the staff to display banners and flexes on all main channels and drainage lines before Eid-ul-Azha, on which citizens should be informed not to throw the remains of sacrificial animals into main channels. He also directed the Director Drainage Division to monitor the awareness campaign.
