GUJRAT, Jun 13 (APP): A vaccination campaign to protect girls from cervical cancer will be conducted in Gujrat district from October 20 to November 2, 2025, under the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) prevention initiative.
The campaign targets girls aged 9 to under 15 years, who will receive the HPV vaccine to reduce the risk of cervical cancer.
From early next year, the vaccine will be included in the routine immunization schedule under the Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI). In preparation for the drive, training sessions for master trainers and supervisors were held at the District Health Development Centre (DHDC), Gujrat. Chief Executive Officer of the District Health Authority, Dr. Syed Ata-ul-Munim, supervised the training sessions. Deputy District Health Officers and other officials were also in attendance.
Dr. Ata-ul-Munim issued key operational guidelines regarding planning, team deployment, and vaccination protocols, stressing the importance of effective implementation to ensure campaign success.
