SARGODHA, Nov 10 (APP): The Collage of Pharmacy, University of Sargodha in collaboration with the Punjab Thalassemia Prevention Department PTGD Regional Center Sargodha, organized an awareness walk to commemorate National Thalassemia Day.
The event aimed to educate and inspire the youth about premarital Thalassemia screening and to highlight the pivotal role of PTGD in eradicating Thalassemia across Punjab.
The walk was led by Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Qaisar Abbas as the chief guest, while Prof Dr Khawaja Muhammad Arshad (Professor of Pediatrics, Dr Faisal Masood Teaching Hospital Sargodha), and Muneeb Rahmat (Regional Head, PTGD Sargodha Region) graced the occasion as guests of honor.
They were joined by Pro Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Masood Sarwar Awan, Dean Faculty of Pharmacy Prof Dr
Usman Minhas, Director Students Affairs Dr. Mahmood-ul-Hassan, faculty members, and over 500 students.
Addressing the participants, Prof Dr Qaisar Abbas praised PTGD’s tireless preventive efforts in the Sargodha division. He encouraged students to become advocates of prevention, saying that a Thalassemia-free Pakistan begins with responsible choices and timely testing.
