SARGODHA, Dec 09 (APP): University of Sargodha (UOS) Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Qaisar Abbas returned to Pakistan after a highly productive official visit to China, during which the university secured significant international partnerships in technology, education, health, maritime training, and industrial collaboration.
According to UoS spokesperson here on Tuesday, during the visit, UoS signed a series of agreements with renowned Chinese institutions and companies.
The university inked a Memorandum of Understanding with Tianjin Xinzhiou Tech Co. Ltd., aimed at strengthening technological innovation, applied research, and industry-driven training programs for students and faculty.
In another initiative, UoS signed a Letter of Intent with Tianjin Boling Education and Culture Investment Co. Ltd. to launch an international Seafarer Training Program, opening new avenues for Pakistani youth in global maritime education and employment.
In a historic development, UoS also signed an LoI with Hainan Leyin Investment Co. Ltd. to establish an international campus and an international hospital in Sanya, Hainan Province—making UoS the first Pakistani university to initiate a foreign campus in China.
The Vice Chancellor-led delegation inspected the proposed land in Sanya, reviewing its suitability, infrastructure, and development potential.
The UoS delegation also participated in the 3rd International Symposium on Pathogenic Microbial Infection Mechanisms and the 2025 Annual Academic Conference at Nankai University, where both sides held a meeting to formalize a major academic partnership.
Strengthening industry linkages, the delegation visited Tianjin Bio-innovation Synthetic Biotech Co. Ltd. and Zibo Huijie Machinery Co. Ltd., where the latter agreed to establish a medical equipment manufacturing facility in Pakistan.
Reflecting on the visit, Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Qaisar Abbas said that these strategic collaborations mark a new chapter in the University of Sargodha’s global engagement. “The partnerships secured during this visit will enhance our academic standing, expand research capabilities, and create transformative opportunities for Pakistan’s youth,” he concluded.
