LAHORE, Apr 04 (APP):The Department of Political Science and International Relations at the University of Management and Technology (UMT) organised a special seminar on the ongoing war between the US, Israel and Iran and their implications for Pakistan and the Middle East.
The seminar was attended by prominent defence analysts, diplomats, intellectuals and a large number of students.
The event was attended by Chairman and President UMT Ibrahim Hasan Murad, former Ambassador Jauhar Saleem, Air Commodore (retd) Khalid Chishti, renowned columnist and analyst Orya Maqbool Jan, religious scholar Asif Hameed Israar, Chief Advisor UMT Lieutenant General (retd) Javed Hassan, and Chairperson of the Department of Political Science and International Relations Dr Usman Askari, along with other experts.
Ibrahim Hasan Murad stated that Pakistan’s leadership is playing an important and constructive role in promoting peace and resolving conflicts in the region amid the current global tensions.
He said that emerging new alliances in the Middle East may lead to significant geopolitical changes. He also emphasized that Muslim countries must strengthen unity in view of attempts by Israel to create divisions within the Muslim world.
Air Commodore (retd) Khalid Chishti, while discussing the regional security environment, said that due to rising global tensions.
Pakistan could face multiple challenges related to the economy, energy security, trade and maritime security, which require a comprehensive and forward-looking strategy
