PESHAWAR, Feb 02 (APP): In line with the vision of the Speaker of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, Babar Saleem Swati, a two-week mandatory training program aimed at enhancing the professional capacity of officers of the Provincial Assembly Secretariat has successfully concluded.
Officers from various departments of the Provincial Assembly participated in the program, which was organized under the auspices of the Pakistan Institute of Parliamentary Services.
While addressing the inaugural ceremony of the training program, Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, Syed Waqar Shah, said that in accordance with the Speaker’s vision, a formal Act has been introduced for assembly employees under which mandatory training has been made a prerequisite for the promotion of officers of all cadres.
He said that during the training, officers were provided comprehensive orientation on the Constitution of Pakistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly laws, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Rules of Governance, reading and writing skills, legislative drafting, office management, digital democracy, presentation skills, and other relevant subjects.
He said the core objective of the training program was to enhance the capacity of Assembly employees, build their self-confidence, and align them with the requirements of the modern era.
Experts from various fields delivered lectures and provided both theoretical and practical guidance to the participating officers.
At the concluding ceremony of the training program, Speaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Babar Saleem Swati distributed certificates among the officers who successfully completed the training. On this occasion, MPAs Nazeer Abbasi and Sobia Shahid were also present alongside the Speaker. The Speaker appreciated the performance of all participating officers and expressed gratitude to the staff of the Pakistan Institute of Parliamentary Services.
Addressing the ceremony, Speaker Babar Saleem Swati stated that he envisions the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Secretariat emerging as a model and exemplary institution, emphasizing that institutions are strengthened only when their employees are professionally competent. He added that the Provincial Assembly is a legislative institution whose performance directly impacts the lives of the people, therefore it must perform at the highest possible standard.
On the final day of the training program, a commemorative group photograph was also taken. This was the first batch of the mandatory training program, and the process will continue in the future as well.
All participants expressed their gratitude to Speaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Babar Saleem Swati, said that the training not only boosted their self-confidence but also enabled them to learn new skills, improve their professional abilities, and identify areas for further improvement.
