ISLAMABAD, Nov 23 (APP):The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police’s Bhara Kahu have arrested two members of an organised motorcycle-theft gang operating in the federal capital, recovering a stolen motorcycle along with multiple dismantled parts.
An official told APP on Sunday that the crackdown against motorcycle theft and street crime has been intensified across Islamabad. As part of these efforts, the Bhara Kahu police team used technical surveillance and human intelligence to trace and arrest the suspects involved in several theft incidents.
He said the arrested accused have been identified as Muhammad Yousaf and Aryan, who were wanted in multiple cases registered at Bhara Kahu Police Station and surrounding areas. A stolen motorcycle and several parts of other stolen bikes were recovered from their possession.
During initial interrogation, the suspects confessed to committing multiple thefts in Bhara Kahu and nearby localities. Further investigation is underway to trace other accomplices and recover additional stolen property.
The official added that DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq appreciated the police team’s performance and said that strict action against motorcycle thieves and street-crime gangs has led to a noticeable decline in such offences across the capital.
He directed all police officers to continue the crackdown against criminal elements and ensure they are brought to justice./
