Surprise visits to SMC Branches, vigilance Committee inspects attendance, duty discipline

SUKKUR, Nov 28 (APP): On the directives of Sukkur Municipal Commissioner Ali Raza Ansari, a series of surprise visits to various external offices of the institution was initiated recently. The aim was to improve the attendance system, ensure adherence to duty timings and enhance overall work discipline.

Continuing this drive, on Friday, the Vigilance Committee conducted unannounced inspections of different branches of Sukkur Municipal Corporation. The committee, comprising Office Superintendent Islamuddin Shaikh, Admin Officer (UT) Ali Nasir Adnan, Assistant Muhammad Kashif Malik and Media Coordinator Danish Ansari, visited the Mayor’s Secretariat, Deputy Mayor’s Office, Municipal Commissioner’s Office, General Branch, Engineering Branch, Accounts, Land Grant, Electric, Tax, Health Branch, Kachi Abadi, Council Section and MLA Office.

During the visit, the attendance registers of all branches were scrutinized in detail and employees were checked individually. Employees found absent or not present during duty were issued final warnings. Branch in-charges were strictly instructed to maintain attendance registers regularly, ensure punctuality of staff and further improve office discipline.

The committee clarified that the series of surprise visits will continue. In case of repeated absence or negligence, strict departmental action, including salary deductions, will be taken against the concerned officials.

Municipal Commissioner Ali Raza Ansari said effective attendance and strong discipline ensure better municipal services to citizens. He urged all officers and employees to perform their duties with full seriousness.
