FAISALABAD, Jul 23 (APP):In line with the directions of the Punjab government, the district administration fixed new rates of the sugar in the market here on Wednesday.
The new open market rate will be Rs 170 per kg, retail rate will be Rs 168 per kg while the ex-mill rate will be Rs 165 per kg.
Hunza sugar mills will meet 60 per cent of the market demand in four tehsils — City, Saddar, Chak Jhumra and Jaranwala while Kanjwani mills will fulfill 40pc demand in two tehsils Samundri and Tandlianwala.
The decision was taken during a meeting held to review demand, supply and price of sugar in the chair of Deputy Commissioner Capt (retd) Nadeem Nasir here on Wednesday.
Additional Commissioner General Capt (retd) Tayyab Sami, Assistant Commissioners City and other officers were also present in the meeting.
Assistant Commissioners Tandlianwala, Chak Jhumra, Jaranwala, and Samandri participated through video link.
The deputy commissioner has strictly instructed the subordinate officers to ensure implementation on new rates of the sugar in the district.
