PESHAWAR, May 30 (APP):Ahead of Eid-ul-Azha, the district administration of Peshawar held a key meeting to finalize preparations for the festival.
The meeting was chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Rao Hashim Azeem on the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Sarmed Saleem Akram.
Officials from various departments attended the session, where detailed briefings were given on arrangements related to cattle markets, sanitation, traffic management, public facilities, and security.
The ADC directed that all cattle markets across tehsils be supervised by the district administration, with full support from relevant departments.
Livestock Department veterinarians will inspect animals at entry points, ensure anti-parasitic sprays are applied, and oversee hygiene in the markets. Police and traffic officials will also be deployed to maintain order and ensure smooth traffic flow.
Cattle market owners were instructed to follow the government’s code of conduct strictly, designate separate areas for animals, use bamboo fencing, and establish separate pathways for better crowd movement.
Authorities were also ordered to take immediate action against unauthorized cattle markets to avoid traffic congestion.
