Strict action against undocumented Afghans in Sindh: Minister

SUKKUR, Oct 16 (APP): Senior Minister and Provincial Minister for Information, Transport and Mass Transit, Sharjeel Inam Memon has warned that the Sindh government would take strict action against undocumented Afghan nationals residing in the province. He stated that numerous arrests have been made in Karachi and some individuals have been deported.
Speaking to the media at Begum Nusrat Bhutto Airport here Thursday, Memon emphasized that Pakistan has always sought good relations with neighboring countries, including Afghanistan.
However, he warned that Pakistan will not tolerate any provocation or aggression, and the armed forces will take retaliatory action when necessary.
Memon also highlighted the need for coordinated operations between Sindh and Punjab to restore law and order in the katcha areas.
He urged the Punjab government to conduct joint operations to eliminate criminal hideouts.
The minister announced that the Sindh government has offered a lenient policy for dacoits who surrender voluntarily, ensuring their safety and rehabilitation. He prioritized the safety of life and property for all citizens.
On transportation, he revealed plans to launch a fast train from Karachi to Sukkur, with the Transport Department in talks with international investors for this purpose.
