KARACHI, Nov 05 (APP):Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology (SSUET) made a significant impact at the Pakistan International Maritime Expo & Conference (PIMEC-2025) by showcasing nine (9) innovative projects developed by its talented students. The exhibition featured a range of groundbreaking initiatives, including SoulPure, Safe Wear: Smart Wearable Security Device, Resilient Module, Perception Tech., RAFT, Ship Showdown, Silver Nanoparticles as an Antibiotic, SSG, and IoTFIY. These projects, designed and produced by the students of Sir Syed University captivated visitors, and underscored the university’s commitment to advancing technology and innovation, highlighting the exceptional skills and forward-thinking mindset of the SSUET students who are poised to contribute significantly to Pakistan’s future.
Delegates from Indonesia, Kenya, UEA, South Africa etc. and other distinguished dignitaries visited SSUET stall and appreciated immensely the projects of the students.
On this auspicious occasion, during his visit, the Chancellor of Sir Syed University, Muhammad Akbar Ali Khan appreciated the projects which ranged from cutting-edge technology solutions to sustainable design concepts, emphasizing how these projects reflect the bright prospects for the nation.
“Students of Sir Syed University are showcasing their academic knowledge, and they embody the spirit of innovation that Pakistan needs. Their work indicates that the future of our country is in capable hands,” added the Chancellor Akbar Ali Khan.
Chairperson of the Zakir Ali Khan Foundation, Erum Akbar Ali Khan, pointed out that the Maritime Expo highlights the spirit of innovation and collaboration within the maritime industry. Students of Sir Syed University showcased their projects at the exhibition to convey the vision for the future of maritime technology and sustainability.
Vice Chancellor of SSUET, Prof. Dr. Afzal Haq, emphasized the importance of not only improving operational efficiency but also reducing environmental impact. He noted that our students have produced projects, working closely with experts and engaging in thorough research to ensure their innovations are both practical and groundbreaking. He believes that success in the maritime industry hinges on collaboration and knowledge sharing. By working together, we can develop a comprehensive strategy for a sustainable maritime future that addresses critical challenges.
Registrar SSUET, Cdre. (r) Syed Sarfraz Ali, SI (M) said that PIMEC served as an invaluable platform for students to demonstrate their talents and ideas, reinforcing the importance of fostering creativity in education. As the nation continues to navigate challenges, the innovative spirit displayed by SSUET students offers a hopeful glimpse into a brighter future for Pakistan.
Admiral Naveed Ashraf, NI NI (M)T Bt, also graced the occasion, emphasizing the significance of such initiatives in shaping the maritime sector’s future.
Acknowledgment goes to Riaz ul Haq, Huma Anwar, Sarwat Zulifiqar, Engr. S.M. Hasan Danish, and the other dedicated students who contributed to making the SSUET stall visually appealing and a focal point of attraction.
On this occasion, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Sir Syed University and Dreams Network & Technology. This agreement aims to foster collaboration in joint research and industrial consultancy. Both parties will work together on product commercialization and capacity-building initiatives to support youth development.
