Significant increase recorded in disbursing interest-free loans

LAHORE, Dec 01 (APP): A significant increase has been recorded in the pace of disbursement of interest-free loans to citizens, said in a monthly performance report of Apni Chhat Apni Ghar program.
According to the report, an average of 424 families were completing the construction of their houses every day, and a 595 percent increase has been recorded in the overall pace of the program over the past six months.
In the month of November alone, the first installment of loans was released to 13,562 families for the construction of houses, while the second installment of loans was released
to 12,056 families to complete the construction of houses in the month of November.
A total of 12,716 families completed the construction of houses last month, and a total of 25,618 families were granted loans in one month.
According to the sources in Housing Department, since its inception, the construction of more than 41,000 houses has been completed in a record period, so far loans have been provided to 118,379 families, the second installment has been released to 78,601 families to complete the construction.
Likewise, more than Rs 145 billion has been issued under the program as interest-free loans.
Sources from the Housing Department said that very easy conditions had been set for obtaining interest-free loans, while 20 percent concession was being given on full repayment of the loan in 1 to 3 years.
Meanwhile, 10 percent concession could be obtained on repayment of loan within 4 to 6 years.
They added that the increasing trust of the public in the Apni Chhat Apna Ghar program was a clear proof of its success.
Citizens could register for the program from home through an online form.
