PESHAWAR, Jan 07 (APP):Several passengers including women and children were critically injured when a coaster collided with a truck on Mardan Road near Katlang due to dense fog on Wednesday.
Police said, the accident took place at Gulbahar Stop where a truck collided head-on with a coaster during dens foggy condition. As a result, the coaster driver and multiple passengers sustained severe injuries. Several women and children were reported to be unconscious and were immediately shifted to the hospital.
The coaster driver, along with a woman and a child were referred from Mardan to Peshawar for advanced medical treatment, while other injured passengers are receiving treatment at local hospitals. Authorities stated that poor visibility caused by heavy fog was the main reason behind the accident.
Rescue teams and traffic police promptly reached the scene and carried out relief operations. Further assistance and investigation by traffic police are ongoing.
The injured have been identified as 29-year-old Hazrat Nabi, 45-year-old Ihsan (mother), 35-year-old Amjad, 40-year-old Junaid, 6-year-old Ayesha, 33-year-old unidentified woman, 34-year-old Manzoor, 35-year-old Salman, 35-year-old Waseem and 46-year-old Arshad.
