SARGODHA, Oct 16 (APP): The district administration has achieved 93 percent target in the third day of the national polio vaccination drive.
According to the performance report presented in the evening review meeting, out of the target of 176,942 children, 164,687 children were administered polio drops.
The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Captain (retd) Muhammad Waseem, where Additional Deputy Commissioner General Rana Muhammad Abu Bakar, Chief Executive Officer Health Dr. Sara Safdar, CEO Education Kalsoom Mansha, DHO Dr. Shahzad Gill and others were present.
CEO Health Dr. Sara Safdar briefed the meeting that out of 31,965 absent children, vaccination teams successfully reached 20,847 children during follow-up visits, adding that there were 24 refusal cases reported, with 22 children eventually vaccinated after persuasion.
She informed the meeting that a total of 491,493 children were vaccinated out of the target of 530,630, achieving a cumulative coverage of 93 percent. A total of 85 refusal cases were reported, with 83 children eventually vaccinated.
The DC directed all teams to work diligently on the final day to ensure no child misses vaccination.
Field officers were instructed to monitor the vaccination process closely to achieve 100 percent target and maintain Sargodha’s polio-free status.
