QUETTA, Nov 14 (APP): Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has declared that the creation of a unified police force across Balochistan would serve as a milestone in strengthening law and order across the province.

He made these remarks while chairing a high-level review meeting at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat on Friday, focused on the administrative and technical aspects of merging the Levies Force into the Police Department.

The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan, Additional Chief Secretary Home Hamza Shafqat, Inspector General of Police Muhammad Tahir Khan, Director General Levies Abdul Ghaffar Magsi, officials of the Levies Force and other senior officials.

The meeting discussed challenges faced by Levies personnel during the transition and strategies to ensure a smooth integration.

The chief minister directed that proposals on promotions, transfers, and seniority be finalized promptly. He specifically ordered a one-step promotion for Risaldar Majors to ensure dignity and fairness in the process.

Sarfraz Bugti emphasized that the integration would be carried out with strict adherence to merit and transparency.

“The merger will be implemented gradually under a coordinated, phased plan.”

To boost operational effectiveness after the merger, the CM issued directives for introduction of modern training modules, provision of basic police training to Levies officers and jawans.

He emphasized that the merger would increase coordination among law enforcement agencies, significantly improving the province’s security environment.

Sarfraz Bugti reaffirmed his determination to complete the merger in an honourable and effective manner, ensuring both viability and sustainability.

“This integration will strengthen law enforcement activity and coordination, playing a vital role in improving peace and stability in Balochistan.”

The chief minister stressed that the government’s top priorities remain the welfare and professional development of officers and personnel.

Sarfraz concluded by noting that these reforms were aligned with modern requirements, ensuring a strong, professional, and uniform police force capable of serving the people of Balochistan more effectively.
