CHARSADDA, Jul 04 (APP):Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi on Friday emphasized that the rule of law is the cornerstone of a civilized and strong society, asserting that lawyers play a pivotal role in upholding it.
He expressed these views while addressing the oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected office bearers of the Charsadda District Bar Association as the chief guest. The Governor administered the oath to the new officials and congratulated them on assuming their responsibilities.
Governor Kundi expressed hope that the new leadership of the Bar would actively contribute to the delivery of justice and improvement of legal services.
He highlighted that Charsadda Bar holds a distinct identity not only in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but across Pakistan due to its consistent constitutional, democratic, and intellectual struggles.
Praising the legal fraternity, the Governor noted, “Lawyers have always been at the forefront of the struggle for the rule of law, judicial independence, and the protection of human rights.”
He added that the responsibilities of lawyers have increased manifold in the current times.
He urged lawyers to not only safeguard the rights of their clients but also play a constructive role in promoting justice, tolerance, and harmony in society.
Emphasizing the importance of access to justice for all, he said lawyers must remain particularly mindful of their professional responsibilities toward the underprivileged and middle-income segments.
Concluding his address, Governor Kundi lauded the services of the Charsadda Bar Association and expressed confidence that the association would continue to uphold its rich traditions in strengthening the justice system.
