PESHAWAR, Jan 26 (APP):During heavy snowfall in the last three days, Rescue 1122 provided full relief services and safely evacuated around 3010 persons trapped in snow across the province, said Bilal Ahmed Faizi, spokesperson of Rescue 1122.
In a press release issued here on Tuesday, Bilal Faizi shared that Rescue 1122 removed 942 vehicles from the snow and restored traffic.
Hundreds of affected people were provided immediate medical assistance on the spot, while 60 important roads and highways were cleared with heavy machinery, the statement added.
Rescue operations continued day and night in Tirah Valley and adjacent areas. A total of 535 personnel and 190 vehicles participated in the operation, spokesperson continued.
He said the department set up 32 temporary rescue points in the affected districts. All rescue stations are on high alert, rescue activities are ongoing.
People are advised to avoid unnecessary travel in bad weather and contact 1122 in case of emergency.
