TANK, Nov 03 (APP):Deputy Commissioner Tanveer Khan Khattak, has emerged as a dynamic force behind the transformation of the education sector in the district, taking practical and people-oriented measures to improve learning conditions for students and teachers alike.
Despite the district’s long-standing socio-economic challenges, DC Tanveer Khan has made education a top priority of his administration. Understanding the difficulties faced by students due to inadequate facilities and the extreme summer heat, he personally visited numerous schools to assess their conditions and ensure immediate action was taken to address issues.
Under his leadership, several government high schools including Government High School Jandola (Boys/Girls), Sher Nawaz Shaheed Model School Tank, Government Girls High Schools in Tank City, Gomal, Garah Baloch, Amakhel, Pai, Muhammad Akbar, Kari Lati, Sarang Zuna, Garah Shehbaz, and Ranwal, as well as High School No. 2 were successfully solarized, providing uninterrupted electricity to classrooms.
This initiative has brought great relief to students and teachers who previously struggled during power outages and scorching temperatures.
Responding to community feedback, DC Tanveer Khan also ensured the installation of a pressure pump at Government High School Jandola to resolve the persistent water shortage problem.
In addition, free textbooks, winter uniforms, and educational supplies were distributed among deserving students to encourage enrollment and regular attendance.
In recognition of academic excellence, scholarships were awarded to talented and position-holding students of Gomal University Tank Campus, inspiring others to pursue higher education with dedication.
Teachers, parents, and education officers have widely praised the district administration’s proactive approach, calling DC’s efforts a “turning point” for Tank’s education sector.
