RDA DG reviews JIT progress, directs swift resolution of housing scheme issues

RAWALPINDI, Jan 16 (APP):Director General of the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), Kinza Murtaza, chaired a special meeting on Friday to review the progress of Joint Investigation Teams (JIT) addressing issues faced by the affectees of the University Town Housing Scheme and the Pakistan Employees Cooperative Housing Scheme.
During the meeting, the DG directed officers concerned to ensure the immediate resolution of all outstanding matters, including plot allotments, plot positions, possession of areas, development works, and other related issues. Mortgages would also be made available in both housing schemes, she added.
She instructed officers of Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE), Estate Management, and other RDA departments to perform their duties responsibly while continuing strict action against illegal elements.
Reiterating the Authority’s commitment, the DG said the RDA would continue to take impartial and decisive measures to protect citizens’ rights, enforce urban development laws, and eliminate fraud and corruption. She stressed transparency, strengthened internal accountability, and safeguarding the public from exploitation.
The DG also advised citizens to avoid investing in illegal housing schemes and to conduct transactions only with approved schemes through the official RDA website, www.rda.gop.pk.
The meeting was attended by the RDA’s Additional DG, Chief Planner, Director Land, Director Estate Management, Deputy Director Estate Management, Deputy Director IT, and other senior officers.
