Rangers arrests three alleged robbers

KARACHI, Feb 19 (APP): Pakistan Rangers Sindh arrested three suspects allegedly involved in multiple robbery and street-crime incidents during an intelligence-based operation in the Saeedabad area of Karachi.
According to a Rangers spokesperson on Thursday, the suspects identified as Abdul Wahid alias Joji, Murtaza and Ejaz were apprehended from Daud Goth Pakka Road. Three mobile phones were recovered from their possession.
The arrested individuals were reportedly involved in several armed robbery and snatching incidents across different localities, including Yousuf Goth, Gulshan-e-Mazdoor, Daud Goth, Naval Road, Hub River Road and 24 Market, where they allegedly deprived citizens of cash and mobile phones at gunpoint.
Officials said the suspects, along with an accomplice who remains at large, had shot dead a grocery store owner during a robbery attempt in Yousuf Goth in 2023 after the victim offered resistance. The accused were also allegedly involved in injuring several citizens during similar crimes.
Investigators revealed that the snatched mobile phones were later sold at the Itwar Bazaar in the Askani Mohalla area of the city.
Authorities described the suspects as habitual offenders who had previously been arrested and jailed. Raids are ongoing to apprehend their remaining accomplices, while the arrested suspects have been handed over to police for further legal proceedings along with the recovered items.
