Punjab Police issue 30,626 driving licenses in 24-hour

LAHORE, Jul 01 (APP):Punjab Police issued as many as 30,626 driving licenses within the last 24 hours as part of its ongoing efforts to facilitate the public and ensure strict enforcement of traffic laws across the province.
The spokesperson for Punjab Police informed that 43,911 traffic violations were recorded during the same period, with fines totaling Rs. 24 million. Additionally, 557 vehicles emitting excessive smoke were penalised, while 115 such vehicles were impounded.
So far this year, the Punjab Police issued 4.266 million driving licenses, while 6.297 million traffic violations have been recorded, generating Rs. 3.83 billion in fines.
Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, stated that the campaign against traffic law violators will continue with full force. He added that 127 driving training schools operated by Punjab Police are providing training to citizens to promote safe driving practices.
The IG emphasised that effective measures are being taken to ensure recovery of fines from traffic violators and uphold the rule of law on roads.
