LAHORE, Nov 22 (APP):On the directions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and the Punjab Inspector General of Police, Dera Ghazi Khan Police have launched a large-scale operation against wanted criminals and suspicious elements ahead of the upcoming bye elections.
The crackdown, supervised by District Police Officer Muhammad Ali Wasim, aims to ensure law and order and allow citizens to exercise their democratic right in a peaceful environment.
According to the police spokesperson, joint operations involving police and other law enforcement agencies are underway across multiple police station jurisdictions. Modern databases and special lists are being used to track proclaimed offenders and criminals, while checkposts and blockades at entry and exit points have been strengthened. Snap-checking of vehicles, motorcycles, and individuals is being conducted to verify identities and prevent unlawful activities.
DPO Muhammad Ali Wasim emphasized a zero-tolerance policy against proclaimed offenders, lawbreakers, and mafias threatening public safety. He directed officers to maintain professionalism, strictly adhere to the law, and respect citizens’ rights while taking decisive action against suspicious elements. The operations aim to ensure a peaceful, transparent, and secure electoral environment throughout the district.
