Punjab Bar Council elections underway in Multan division

MULTAN, Nov 01 (APP): Polling for the five-year Punjab Bar Council elections began across Multan Division on Saturday, as 48 candidates compete for nine divisional seats amid tight security and a high turnout of lawyers.
In Multan district, an intense contest is underway among 23 candidates vying for four seats. Voting started at 8:30 a.m. and will continue till 5:30 p.m., with 11 Additional District and Sessions Judges performing duties as Presiding Officers at various polling booths established within the district courts premises.
According to official data, 5,410 lawyers are eligible to cast their votes in Multan. The district court premises are witnessing a large gathering of candidates, supporters, and voters, creating a highly charged electoral atmosphere.
Prominent candidates contesting from Multan include Khawaja Qaiser Butt, Imran Rasheed Sulari, Rana Tufail Ahmad Noon, and Malik Muhammad Ijaz; while Syed Muhammad Yousaf Akbar Naqvi, Rana Muhammad Nadeem Kanju, Muhammad Arshad Chhajra, Mukhtar Ahmad Khan, Malik Muhammad Akram Bhatti, Sajjad Haider Supra, and Malik Sajjad Haider Maitla are also in the race. Other strong contenders include Muhammad Ramzan, Syed Badr Raza Gillani, Zill-e-Fatima, Sheikh Tanveer Ahmad, Muhammad Malik Khan Langah, Malik Haider Jamal Maitla, and Rana Miraj Khalid.
In Khanewal, nine candidates are contesting for two seats, while Vehari has eight candidates for its two seats, and Lodhran has seven contestants for one seat.
