LAHORE, Dec 15 (APP):Newly appointed Chairman of the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) Qamar Zaman on Monday formally assumed charge of his office and held an introductory meeting with branch heads at the Board’s head office.
According to a spokesman, Secretary Board Farid Iqbal briefed the chairman on the performance of various departments, administrative matters and ongoing projects of the Board.
The meeting was attended by Additional Secretary Shrines Nasir Mushtaq, Additional Secretary Administration Sanaullah Khan and heads of all branches. The chairman was briefed on the working of Estates, Shrines, Finance, Human Resources, Legal and Administration departments, besides challenges and future objectives.
Addressing the meeting, Chairman Qamar Zaman said that protection, restoration and effective management of gurdwaras, temples, religious sites and evacuee properties under the ETPB would be accorded top priority. He stressed that transparency, accountability and merit would be ensured at every level.
Emphasising teamwork to enhance institutional performance, he urged officers and employees to work with mutual cooperation to achieve the Board’s objectives. He termed improvements in the human resource system an urgent need and said practical steps would be taken for professional training, performance-based evaluation and staff welfare.
The chairman further directed all branches to adopt transparency, discipline and responsibility in their affairs and play an active role in transforming the institution into a modern, efficient and accountable organisation.
