RAWALPINDI, Nov 13 (APP):The Police on Thursday detained 56 illegal Afghan nationals and an absconder during search operations carried out in different areas of the district.
According to a police spokesman, during the operations, data of over 1,300 individuals was verified along with 1,350 houses, 183 shops and 33 hotels.
The checking also covered nine junkyards, eight bus terminals, four markets and rental premises to verify tenants’ records.
The search operations were conducted in the jurisdictions of the City, Banni, Waris Khan, New Town, Sadiqabad, Pirwadhai, Ratta Amral, Ganjmandi, Kallar Syedan, Rawat, Chauntra, Gujar Khan, Dhamial, Wah Saddar, Naseerabad, Morgah and Civil Lines police stations.
The spokesman said the operations, conducted on the directives of City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Hamdani, aimed to maintain law and order, curb criminal activities and ensure public safety.
All available resources were being utilised to uphold the rule of law and maintain peace across the district, he added.
