Police arrest 11 suspects, recover drugs, weapons
GUJRAT, Nov 28 (APP): Police in Kharian Circle arrested 11 suspects and seized a significant quantity of narcotics and illegal weapons during ongoing operations against drug dealers.
According to a police spokesperson, the crackdown is being carried out on the directions of District Police Officer (DPO) Gujrat Rana Umar Farooq.
Under the supervision of DSP Kharian Circle Shahid Mahmood, a team led by SHO Gulyana SI Mubashir Nawaz arrested eight suspects, identified as Shehbaz Ahmed, Abid Hussain, Qasim Altaf, Dawood Aslam, Muhammad Hussain, Qamar Abbas, Muhammad Bilal and Fazal Din.
Police recovered 1,258 grams of ice, 1,160 grams of charas, 14 litres of liquor and four 30-bore pistols from them.
In a separate operation, SHO Sadar Kharian Inspector Tauqeer-ul-Hassan arrested three suspects,Shehbaz Khan, Sarfraz Khalid and Usman Khan. Police said the team recovered 1,100 grams of ice, more than 3kg of heroin and 1,635 grams of charas.
Police said cases have been registered against all the suspects, and further investigation is underway.
