LAHORE, Oct 14 (APP):The Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) on Tuesday organized an awareness session titled “PITB Connect360 Talk Series: Opening Session on Cervical Cancer Awareness” at Arfa Software Technology Park (ASTP).
The session was aimed at raising awareness among female employees about cervical cancer prevention and the importance of early detection.
Dr. Maria Azad, Consultant Gynaecologist and Head of Department at Railway Cairns Hospital, Lahore, delivered a detailed presentation on the causes, symptoms, and prevention of cervical cancer. She emphasized the need for public awareness to support the Punjab government’s vaccination drive for young girls to help prevent the spread of this life-threatening disease.
Dr. Azad also highlighted the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle, regular exercise, and a balanced diet to strengthen immunity and reduce the risk of developing such diseases.
PITB Connect360 is a new initiative by the Communication and Coordination Wing, designed to help employees thrive in an AI-driven, digital-first work environment while ensuring mental well-being, workplace safety, and digital security.
In his message, PITB Chairman Faisal Yousaf said, “Raising awareness about sensitive health issues such as cervical cancer is not only essential for women’s well-being but also part of our collective responsibility as an institution. At PITB, we believe that a healthy workforce is a productive workforce, and initiatives like Connect360 play a vital role in fostering both personal and professional well-being among our employees.”
