PHP releases Jan performance report

LAHORE, Feb 03 (APP): Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) on Tuesday released its performance report for January 2026, highlighting significant achievements in crime prevention, traffic enforcement and public facilitation across the province’s highways.
According to a Punjab Police spokesperson, PHP remained actively engaged in ensuring public safety, smooth traffic flow and strict enforcement of traffic laws through modern technology, effective strategies and vigilant policing.
During the month, PHP arrested 507 proclaimed offenders and court absconders using the e-Police Post App, while 112 stolen vehicles and motorcycles were recovered and returned to their owners.
The spokesperson said that legal action was taken against 4,356 overloaded vehicles for violating axle load regulations, while 649 vehicles were proceeded for the illegal use of gas cylinders.
For public facilitation, PHP issued 42,373 driving licences, traced 34 missing children and reunited them with their parents. The removal of 972 temporary and permanent encroachments improved traffic flow, while 19,395 passengers on highways were provided assistance and guidance.
He said that 16,506 citizens availed various policing services at Police Khidmat Marakaz during the month.
In addition, cases were registered against illegal weapons, leading to the recovery of two Kalashnikov rifles, nine pistols and hundreds of rounds of ammunition. Action against drug dealers resulted in the recovery of 562 litres of liquor, said spokesperson.
