LAHORE, Feb 12 (APP):The third and final day of the International Horse and Cattle Show 2025, featuring vibrant international tent pegging competitions, concluded with the final matches in single line, double, triple, and four horse rider categories.
The three-day International Tent Pegging Friendship Tournament took place at the Benin Tree Polo Ground in Cantt, Lahore, with teams from South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Russia, Qatar, Kuwait, the USA, Norway, and Pakistan participating.
The results of the final day were as follows:
Pakistan secured the first position, Egypt took second, Saudi Arabia came third, and South Africa claimed fourth place. Nine international teams and 36 international players participated in the International Tent Pegging Friendship Tournament. In archery, 16 archers from Kazakhstan, Turkey, Iran, Russia, and Pakistan competed. The results of the archery competition were: Kazakhstan in first place, Turkey in second, and Iran in third.
Nine teams participated in the spear-throwing event, while five international teams competed in archery. The riders displayed exceptional skills in horseback riding and spear-throwing, which was well-received and appreciated by the spectators. Trophies and medals were awarded to the winning teams’ horse riders and archers.
Meanwhile, on the first day of the National Tent Pegging competition at Fortress Stadium, 60 teams and 260 riders participated in the single line event. On the second day, the line four competitions were held.
In the single-line events on the first day, the winners were:
•First position: Mehr Imran Haider Barbahna, Wato Club
•Second position: Riaz Asif Bhola Kharal, SA Garden
•Third position: Malik Ali Hassan Wato, Zaildar Club
•Fourth position: Khowadr Tent Pegging Club
On the second day of the single-line spear-throwing event, the results were:
•First position: Mehr Asrar Ahmad Nargana
•Second position: Ali Babar Alpa
•Third position: Riaz Aftab Maunika
•Fourth position: Ch. Chan Mahmood
On the third day, in the session of four competitions, the winners were:
•First position: Ch. Sani Khan Ranjha Kharal Club, Chokar Kallan
•Second position: Ch. Munawar Abbas Khokhar Show Line Club Lahore
•Third position: Ch. Jawad Arshad Butt, Al-Hafeez Malik Jhelum Club
Over one crore rupees in cash prizes and rewards were distributed among the teams participating in the National Tent Pegging competition. The team that secured first place was awarded five lakh rupees, second place received two lakh rupees, and third place was awarded two lakh rupees, along with trophies, shields, and cash prizes.
During the prize distribution ceremony at Fortress Stadium, the Chief Guest, Bilal Yaseen, Minister of Housing and Urban Development Punjab, and Ghazali Saleem Butt, Chairman of PHA Lahore, presented the prizes to the winning teams and praised the enthusiasm of the players.
