SARGODHA, Oct 18 (APP): The Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Sargodha and the University of Sargodha have agreed to launch collaborative initiatives aimed at public awareness, student development, and a greener Sargodha.
According to a spokesperson, this understanding was reached during a meeting between Chairman Department of Communication and Media Studies at the University of Sargodha Dr. Mudassar Hussain Shah and media consultant PHA Shafqat Awan.
During the discussion, it was mutually agreed that students from the Department of Communication and Media Studies would be offered internships at PHA Sargodha, ranging from three to six months.
While these internships would be unpaid, students would be formally recognized for their contributions with certificates of appreciation.
Dr. Mudassar Hussain Shah commended Vice Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr. Qaiser Abbas for his ongoing commitment to community development and his vision for a clean and green Pakistan.
He also highlighted the University’s involvement in the Government of Punjab’s Citrus Revival Program, under which disease-free citrus plants were being distributed to farmers.
As part of this program, agricultural scientists from the University were actively providing consultancy, technical assistance and field support to ensure sustainable outcomes for the region’s citrus growers.
In support of the partnership, the University’s campus television and radio stations would provide airtime for PHA’s public service announcements and educational segments.
These broadcasts will focus on horticultural development, environmental protection, and public engagement in local festivals and beautification campaigns, he added.
