RAWALPINDI, Oct 07 (APP): Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Rawalpindi has completed the beautification and rehabilitation of the city’s historic Murree Road, turning it into a vibrant green corridor on the special instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
The project was supervised by Director General PHA Ahmed Hassan Ranjha aimed at to enhance the visual appeal and environmental quality of one of Rawalpindi’s busiest and most significant highways.
As part of the upgradation, the PHA transformed Murree Road into a lush green corridor with landscaped green belts decorated with colourful plants.
A modern paddle tennis court has also been constructed under the 6th Road flyover to promote recreational and sports activities. Beautiful waiting areas have been established at various points along the road, while the iconic clock tower has been given an attractive new look.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz appreciated the efforts of PHA Rawalpindi for successfully completing the comprehensive beautification and rehabilitation project.
In her message, she said that the transformation of Murree Road is not just about beautification but about creating aesthetically pleasing and accessible public spaces that enhance the quality of life of citizens.
She said that Murree Road, once congested, has now been turned into a beautifully landscaped green corridor —a cleaner, more peaceful environment where people can breathe easy, walk in comfort, and take pride in their surroundings.
The Chief Minister said the project reflects the Government’s vision of promoting sustainable urban development and making cities more liveable and attractive for their residents.
