CHINIOT, Jul 12 (APP): The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) on Saturday conducted 103 inspections across the district, checking the quality of essential commodities and issuing reform notices to improve arrangements.
A total of Rs 79,000 in fines was imposed for violating food safety laws. Deputy Director Operations Dr Muhammad Qasim Raza led the efforts to ensure compliance with food safety regulations.
During the inspections, expired products were recovered from grocery stores, with 3 kg of expired goods destroyed and a fine of Rs 41,000 imposed.
A well-known trader was fined Rs 20,000 for failing to submit a juice sample for testing.
Additionally, 2 kg of prohibited ingredients were destroyed, and a fine of Rs 15,000 was imposed on another food point.
