LAHORE, Nov 17 (APP): Commissioner Lahore Division Marryam Khan chaired a meeting to review coordination and performance of the Punjab Enforcement and Regulatory Authority (PERA) and tehsil administrations, emphasizing improved service delivery, strict enforcement, and enhanced responsiveness to citizens.
Speaking at the meeting, Commissioner Marryam Khan said the PERA force must focus all its efforts on capacity enhancement and providing maximum relief to the public. She noted that anti-encroachment operations and price control enforcement remain the core responsibilities of the PERA force, and directed officers to maintain an active field presence to ensure smooth implementation of government directives.
She added that performance will be evaluated on the basis of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), followed by comprehensive analysis to assess individual and collective achievements. The Commissioner instructed that, under the leadership of the Deputy Commissioner, each tehsil must carry out sustained anti-encroachment drives and price control actions, with individual performance reviews to be conducted regularly.
Calling the PERA force a “protector of citizens’ rights,” Commissioner Marryam Khan stressed that officers must exhibit a positive and lawful attitude while dealing with the public. She highlighted that the PERA force remained at the forefront in assisting flood-affected families earlier this year and added that the formation of the force has now been fully completed. She reiterated that discipline, public-friendly conduct, and timely response should remain top priorities, warning that strict action will be taken in case of complaints.
During the meeting, Commissioner Marryam Khan received briefings from the Assistant Commissioners of Cantonment City, Allama Iqbal Town, Nishtar, and Shalamar zones regarding ongoing operations and coordination with PERA force units.
The session was attended by Deputy Commissioner Lahore Syed Musa Raza, Additional Deputy Commissioner General Muhammad Zakhruf, Assistant Commissioners of all five tehsils, SDEOs of the Pera Force, and field officials.
