Pak pharma & healthcare expo inaugurated

LAHORE, Jan 20 (APP):A three-day Pak Pharma & Healthcare Expo commenced at the Expo Centre here on Monday.
Minister of Primary & Secondary Healthcare Khawaja Imran Nazeer inaugurated the event.
This expo is a significant event for the pharmaceutical industry in Pakistan, showcasing the latest advancements and innovations in pharmaceutical manufacturing, processing, and healthcare.
The event features over 400 stalls and 100 exhibitors from various countries, including China, Argentina, Indonesia, and Turkey. This is the 18th edition of the expo, organized by Prime Event Management with the support of the Pakistan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (PPMA).
Talking to the media at the event, the minister said that the government wanted  to promote business in the province. “We are also improving quality of medicines so that other countries can also import our medicines,” he said.
Khawaja Imran Nazeer praised the organizers of the exhibition and said that GMP (good manufacturers practice) compliance companies ere being trained and will be provided with more facilities.
In response to a question, he said that if any medicine becomes hazardous to human health, the law will take action.
Earlier, after the inauguration of the exhibition, event organizer Kamran Abbasi took him on a tour of the stalls. Kamran Abbasi told that the expo aims to provide a platform for pharmaceutical companies to showcase their products and services, as well as to facilitate business-to-business interactions and networking opportunities.
The event also includes conferences and technical seminars, focusing on topics such as pharmaceutical manufacturing, quality control, and regulatory compliance. The exhibition will continue till Wednesday.
Drug Regulatory Authority Pakistan (DRAP) CEO Asim Rauf, President Lahore Chamber of Commerce Mian Abu Zarr Shad, Chairman Pakistan Pharmaceutical Manufacturer Association (PPMA) Tanvir Hussain, Vice Chancellor University of Punjab Professor Dr Muhammad Ali Shah, DG Drug Control Punjab Muhammad Suhail, and organizer of the event Kamran Abbasi were also present.
