RAWALPINDI, May 31 (APP):A total of 1,226 road traffic accidents were reported to Rescue 1122 in Rawalpindi district during the month of May, according to Muhammad Usman Gujjar, Media Coordinator for Rescue Rawalpindi.
These accidents affected 1,388 people in total. Furthermore, Rescue 1122 responded to every emergency call promptly and provided immediate assistance to all victims, maintaining their average response time.
Sadly, 14 people lost their lives in these accidents.
Another 608 suffered serious injuries, while 766 sustained minor injuries.
Most of the accidents involved cars and motorcycles.
Among the 1,388 victims, 1,187 were men and 201 were women.
A large number of the victims were between the ages of 11 and 40.
The common causes of the accidents included speeding, driver carelessness, wrong turns, tire bursts, and other traffic violations.
Despite the high number, the Rescue Service reported a slight decrease in overall accidents compared to previous months.
Rescue 1122 spokesman urged the public to follow traffic rules strictly to prevent further loss of life and injuries.
Meanwhile, 173 fire incidents were reported in Rawalpindi district.
Rescue teams reached these incidents on time and carried out rescue operations. A total of 37 people were injured in these fire incidents. Rescue firefighters controlled these fire incidents in a timely manner with professional skills.
