Orakzai elders, officials reaffirm commitment to peace, cooperation with state

PESHAWAR, Oct 17 (APP): A grand Jirga of Orakzai tribal elders and community leaders was held on Friday at the Commissioner’s House, Kohat, to review the security situation and strengthen cooperation with state institutions.
The meeting was chaired by Commissioner Kohat Division Syed Motasim Billah Shah and Regional Police Officer (RPO) Abbas Majid Marwat, and attended by senior officials from the Orakzai district administration, police, and other departments.
Participants discussed the law and order situation, internal and external challenges, and the need for community engagement in ensuring lasting peace.
Commissioner Shah emphasized that the relationship between the state and its people is based on trust, sacrifice, and shared responsibility, acknowledging the “immeasurable sacrifices” of the tribal population for national stability. He urged unity beyond regional and sectarian divides, calling for collective efforts in the national interest.
RPO Marwat highlighted the importance of public cooperation in combating anti-state activities, stating that “those aiding anti-state elements are enemies of the nation.”
He assured that the elimination of all terrorist groups, including Khawarij militants, remains a top priority, reaffirming that law enforcement agencies stand firmly with the public.
The tribal elders and community representatives pledged full support to the government and security forces, reiterating their commitment to peace, unity and stability in Orakzai district.
