PESHAWAR, Dec 01 (APP):The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) on Monday carried out a major operation here following a woman’s complaint, exposing a dangerous blackmailing network.
According to officials, the accused, identified as Imran, allegedly deceived the victim with a false promise of marriage, obtained her personal photos and videos, and demanded Rs 2 million in ransom.
The suspect also sent an objectionable video to the victim’s brother-in-law in an attempt to further blackmail the family.
NCCIA recorded the statements from the complainant and witnesses and arranged a trap meeting here at Tatara Park, where NCCIA teams conducted a timely raid and arrested the suspect on the spot.
During the arrest, police recovered an iPhone 12 Pro Max, WhatsApp chat records, and several obscene videos of multiple women.
Investigations revealed that the accused worked as a CCTV operator at PIC Hospital, where he allegedly recorded secret videos from the women’s ward. A case has been registered under serious criminal charges.
