PESHAWAR, Jan 27 (APP):The National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has arrested Chief Executive Officer of Star Land Marketing (Private) Limited, Bilal Hassan, and its Regional Director, Iftikhar Ahmad, in connection with a large-scale financial fraud involving public investments amounting to Rs3.73 billion.
According to NAB, the arrests were made based on solid evidence linking the accused to a mega financial scam in which innocent citizens were allegedly deceived through fake real estate investment schemes.
The suspects reportedly lured investors by promising so-called “halal” and guaranteed profits, but instead of investing the collected funds in advertised housing projects, the money was misappropriated.
Investigations have revealed that billions of rupees were collected from the public under pretenses, causing massive financial losses to investors.
NAB officials stated that further investigations are underway to trace the looted amount and identify all individuals involved in the scam.
NAB KP has urged all affected individuals to submit their claims along with relevant documents at the NAB KP office at the earliest to facilitate recovery proceedings.
The bureau reiterated its commitment to safeguarding public interest, ensuring transparent accountability, and taking indiscriminate action against corruption and financial crimes.
