MULTAN, Oct 21 (APP):Multan Waste Management Company (MWMC) has inaugurated a new van here Tuesday to ensure efficient collection of sanitation fees and enhancing public awareness about cleanliness.
MWMC Chief Executive Officer, Abdul Razzaq Dogar, cut the ribbon to officially inaugurate the recovery van. Divisional Manager Operations Anwar-ul-Haq, company officers, and field staff were present.
The CEO also led an awareness rally on smog prevention. As part of the campaign, Dogar personally distributed bills and awareness pamphlets to households and shopkeepers, emphasizing the importance of timely fee payment and community participation in maintaining a clean environment.
“The recovery van will visit various areas of the city to deliver sanitation bills and provide awareness to citizens,” said the CEO. “By paying the sanitation fee, residents can help improve the efficiency of waste management services.”
He added that the initiative aims to make the fee payment process easier and promote a sense of civic responsibility among citizens.
Meanwhile, MWMC teams distributed bills and informational pamphlets across different neighborhoods, detailing the sanitation fee structure, payment methods, and the importance of public cooperation.
“Together, we can make Multan a cleaner, greener, and healthier city,” he concluded.
Manager Operations Anwarul Haq said that Punjab cabinet had approved recovery of sanitation or cleanliness tax, adding that nominal fee would be charged.
While the commercial businesses already issued bills, the domestic households have started receiving bill from Oct 2025.
