RAWALPINDI, Jan 01 (APP): The district administration in Murree has further tightened enforcement of the one-dish policy, carrying out surprise inspections of wedding halls at well-known and branded hotels to prevent violations of government directives.
Acting on the special instructions of deputy commissioner Murree, teams of the district administration had intensified monitoring of marriage functions across the city to ensure strict compliance with the policy, an administration spokesman said on Thursday.
As part of the crackdown, Magistrate Usman Aslam conducted an unannounced inspection of a wedding hall at a prominent local hotel where a marriage ceremony was under way. During the visit, he reviewed the arrangements in detail and directed the hotel management to ensure full adherence to the one-dish policy.
The magistrate warned the management that any violation of the policy would not be tolerated and that strict action would be taken in accordance with the law in case of non-compliance in future.
He said the administration was utilising all available resources to ensure implementation of the government orders in the public interest.
According to the district administration, the one-dish policy aims to discourage extravagance at wedding ceremonies, promote simplicity and protect citizens from unnecessary financial burden. Officials said the policy particularly benefits middle- and low-income segments of society while encouraging moderation and balance in social practices.
The administration appealed to citizens, hotel owners and wedding hall managers to fully cooperate with the authorities by observing the one-dish policy and other government directives, warning that strict legal action would be taken against violators.
It added that surprise inspections would continue across the city in the coming days to ensure compliance.
