MARDAN, Jul 04 (APP):Federal Minister and President of PML-N Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Engineer Amir Muqam, met with the bereaved families in Rustam, New Kalay, Mardan, who lost their loved ones in the tragic Swat River incident particularly with the son of Nazir Ahmad and the brother of Shafqat.
On behalf of himself and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, he offered condolences, recited Fatiha (prayer for the deceased), and expressed heartfelt sympathy.
He stated that the tragic incident in Swat is an unspeakable source of grief. Despite being trapped in the river for several hours, no rescue team arrived, which is clear evidence of the complete failure and incompetence of the provincial government.
He offered apologies to the people of the province, especially those of Swat.
On this occasion, the federal minister also met with three individuals who were courageously rescued by local volunteer Muhammad Hilal, who acted heroically and without official support. Engineer Amir Muqam extended financial assistance on his behalf.
He prayed for the elevation of the ranks of the martyrs and for patience and strength for the bereaved families.
Also present at the occasion were PML-N Mardan District President Advocate Inayat Bacha, District General Secretary and former MPA Jamshed Khan Mohmand, Provincial President of PML-N Minority Wing Suresh Kumar, Mian Abdul Rehman, and other party leaders and dignitaries.
