Motorcycle riders without helmet, licence to face a double fine

LAHORE, Sep 05 (APP):The CTO Lahore has decided to intensify a crackdown on motorcyclists, who ride their two-wheelers without licence and helmet.
This campaign would be launched at The Mall road, Canal Bank Road, Jail Road and all important highways.
Police have been directed to launch crackdown at Kahna, Nishtar, Raiwand Road and other suburban highways also. CTO Lahore Amara Athar issued an order that violation of licence should be checked and if not found licence of riders, double fine should be imposed. “Nowhere in the city a motorcyclist should be seen without a helmet,” she said.
During this year, action was taken against more than 40,000 motorcyclists, and drivers without a licence or without a helmet would be fined Rs 2,000.
