Modern waiting room at hospital opens

SIALKOT, Jul 29 (APP): Deputy Commissioner Saba Asghar Ali, Members of Provincial Assembly Muhammad Manshaullah Butt and Chaudhry Faisal Ikram formally inaugurated the new and modern air-conditioned waiting room built for patients at the Government Allama Iqbal Memorial Teaching Hospital (AIMTH).
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Assistant Commissioner Sialkot Anum Babar, Vice President (VP) Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) Umer Khalid, Principal Khwaja Muhammad Safdar Medical College Dr. Huma Kiani, Medical Superintendent Dr. Sohail Anjum Butt, senior doctors and paramedical staff.
On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Saba Asghar Ali said that the old waiting room was in a very bad condition where there was no proper seating facility and no better environment.
Sher said that keeping in mind the suffering of the patients, the district administration, with the cooperation of local philanthropists, completely rebuilt the waiting room along modern lines. The new waiting room has comfortable seats, air conditioners, and TV facilities for patients and their families so that they are free from mental stress during the medical process.
She said that patients will now wait for their turn in the waiting room on a daily basis, which will also improve discipline in the hospital. She said that this project is part of the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, under which quality health facilities are being provided to the public without discrimination.
MPAs Muhammad Manshaullah Butt and Chaudhry Faisal Ikram directed the hospital administration to ensure the provision of basic and modern health facilities to the patients as per the instructions of the Punjab Chief Minister.
They said that all the operation theaters of the hospital should be activated immediately and if any kind of official or technical assistance is required in this regard, they should approach the government so that immediate steps can be taken.
They said that the health sector is among the top priorities of the government and whatever resources are required for the health and welfare of the people will be provided.
At the end of the ceremony, the Medical Superintendent of the hospital, Dr. Sohail Anjum Butt, thanked all the guests and reiterated the commitment to further improve the performance of the hospital.
