SARGODHA, Oct 02 (APP):A Mehfil-e-Milad was organized at University of Sargodha here on Monday by the Department of Co-curricular Forum and Directorate of Students Affairs.
The Mahfil Milad was presided over by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qaiser Abbas while Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mian Ghulam Yasin was the chief guest. Students, who had won competitions at the provincial and national levels in reciting Naat competitions, presented their kalams with their beautiful voices.
Addressing the event, Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Qaiser Abbas said the Prophet’s (PBUH) life and teachings provide guidance to all humanity and his teachings have impacted the entire world and continue to guide us.
The Vice-Chancellor said that the solution to all the world’s problems lies in the Seerat of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
He highlighted that the teachings of the Prophet (peace be upon him) go beyond writing and speaking; they provide the true essence of Islam that has been conveyed to the world.
Dr. Qaisar Abbas encouraged students to not only read the Quran with the intention of gaining blessings but also to understand its message. He stressed that Islam is a comprehensive religion that emphasizes monotheism, humanity and goodness.
Dr. Feroz-ud-Din Shah, a professor and renowned preacher from the Department of Islamic Studies, emphasized the role of education in society. He highlighted the deep connection between knowledge and ethics, stating that a good society could only be formed through quality education.
He also emphasized the importance of ethics in individual and societal development, stating that our religion, Islam, excels in promoting the rights of all people.
Director Co-curricular Forum, Dr. Muhammad Munir Gujjar, also addressed the Mehfil-e-Milad and expressed gratitude to all the attendees.
Director Implementation Dr. Rehana Elias, Director External Linkages Dr. Ejaz Asghar Bhatti, Director Student Affairs, Dr. Mahmood-ul-Hassan, heads of various departments, teachers, and students also attended.
