QUETTA, Nov 16 (APP): Advisor to the Chief Minister on Sports and Youth Affairs, Meena Majeed Baloch reaffirmed the government’s commitment to continue robust efforts to protect and empower the rights of girls in Balochistan, ensuring a safer and brighter future for generations to come.
She described the Child Marriage Prevention Bill as a historic and revolutionary step by approving a landmark bill preventing child marriage.
In her statement issued here on Sunday, Meena Baloch emphasized that child marriage was a grave violation of girls’ fundamental rights, severely affecting their health, education and future prospects.
“The Balochistan Assembly has made a decision that will guarantee a secure, empowered, and bright future for coming generations, especially young girls,” she said.
Meena Majeed Baloch noted that under the leadership of Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, the provincial government has prioritized the protection of women and children. She described the bill as not only a legal measure but also a practical step toward social reform, laying the foundation for positive change across the province.
The Advisor paid tribute to assembly members, civil society organizations, women’s rights activists, and institutions who contributed to the passage of the law. She expressed the hope that all stakeholders would work collectively to devise an effective enforcement strategy.
Highlighting the law’s impact on the younger generation, she stated that it would provide girls with the opportunity to fully benefit from education, sports, and other life opportunities.
