KOHAT, Jan 15 (APP):Deputy Commissioner Kohat Abdul Akram chaired a meeting at Divisional Headquarters of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday to discuss the development of a mass transit system in the region.
According to DC office, the meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner General Hamid Iqbal, Assistant Commissioner Kohat Nimra Owais, and Secretary RTA Muhammad Shoaib.
DC issued directives to the concerned authorities to submit a comprehensive plan outlining routes and other arrangements for the mass transit service within a stipulated timeframe. This move aims to streamline the development process and ensure efficient implementation of the mass transit system, he said.
The introduction of a mass transit system is expected to revolutionize public transportation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, providing citizens with a reliable, efficient, and environmentally friendly mode of transportation, he further said.
Reducing reliance on personal vehicles, the system will also help alleviate traffic congestion and promote sustainable urban development.
